Sebastiao Salgado is a Brazilian social documentary photographer and a photo journalist. His work is dedicated to the awareness of conditions of both wild life and humans. Can someone find pure beauty in poverty and harsh exploitation of human lives? Well Salgado did, in his monochromatic photojournalistic approach of his subjects through his career.
If you want to know more about him there is a documentary filmed by his son Juliano Salgado and Wim Wenders and it’s called The salt of the Earth (official trailer via here) and yes this documentary has left me speechless….
“Photography is not objective. It is deeply subjective – my photography is consistent ideologically and ethically with the person I am.” – Sebastião Salgado
