If you missed my previous blog post about the beloved plastic chair of Charles and Ray Eames you can find it here. It was all about how this innovative furniture typology -the multifunctional chair whose shell can be joined with a variety of different bases to serve diverse purposes – has become widspread and point of reference among designers. Following the concept of this post today I have gathered variations of the plastic Eames armchair in Scandinavian design. Similar forms, similar materials and colours and top quality in all of them. My personal favourite, as I have stated before, is the Harbour chair, a chair that can become classic through time.
- Eames Plastic armchair for Vitra.
- Harbour Chair for Menu by Norm Architects
- Fiber armchair – tube base for Muuto
- Verve 4 legs for Fredericia
- About a Chair for Hay.
