I am not a film expert but I am a film lover. Cinema defines me in some way.
And I cannot help thinking of film directors when I think about art.
Akira Kurosawa is one of them because of the impact it had on me, pretty early in my life, one of his latest film RAN. I was nine or ten years old when I first saw that film and though I didn’t fully understand it, I can still recall many scenes of the film. I can understand if Kurosawa is not your style because of the cultural difference, but try to see at least one of his movies, it can really surprise you (Rashomon, Seven Samurai, or Jojimbo are some of the options).
The reason I am talking about Kurosawa today is because a good friend of mine send me a link about how to understand movement in composition through the work of Akira Kurosawa. I found it very interesting and it intrigued me to watch some of his films again. What about you?
